EDUCATION

I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2008. I completed my predoctoral clinical internship and postdoctoral research fellowship in child psychology at Brown University Medical School in Providence, RI.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a Professor and Clinician Educator at Brown University. In this role, I have received teaching awards and trained countless interns and post-docs to be the next generation of psychologists. I hold a leadership position for Brown’s Clinical Psychology Training Consortium and I offer workshops and trainings for MDs, social workers, and other providers in hospital and community settings.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

My research focuses on understanding emotional and behavioral challenges in children and adolescents and developing effective ways to help them thrive. I have led studies that test innovative approaches to treatment, including parent-focused programs and technology-based interventions. I also study ways to strengthen therapists’ skills and increase the use of evidence-based treatments across settings such as hospitals, primary care, juvenile justice programs, and community mental health clinics. I have served as Principal Investigator on multiple NIH-funded research grants and have authored over 100 scientific publications.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town in upstate New York. My husband and I moved to Massachusetts after grad school and now have three amazing boys who range in age from a teenager to early elementary age. In my free time, I can be found spending time with my family, cooking, gardening, traveling, or solving the Wordle of the day.
